The Jasper Brooch update
I was two-thirds of the way through the manuscript when I had a heart attack on May 9. I have horrible family genes, and I knew one day those genes would catch up with me. I had a 100% blockage in an artery that the doctor successfully stented.
If that were the end of it, I would have been back at work within a few days. But that wasn’t the case. I developed pericarditis, which cleared up and then hit me again. My recovery has been painfully slow. After seven weeks, I haven’t written any new pages. I am feeling better, though.
So, instead of a mid-summer release, the book won’t come out until later this fall. But I promise you, it will come out this year!
Meet Lincoln…
Hi, my name is Lincoln Hicks and I’ve recently taken over as Marketing Manager for my grandmother, Katherine Lowry Logan.
I’m currently a finance major at Miami University and a proud member of Sigma Phi Epsilon. I’ve grown up around these books and have always admired the passion and heart “Kake” puts into every story.
I was around seven or eight when I realized I had been name-dropped in a few of the Celtic Brooch novels, and it’s something I’ve always been proud of. Now, I get to help bring these incredible time travel romances to even more readers.
My girlfriend, who studies at the College of Charleston, is also a huge fan of stories like these, which makes this work feel even more meaningful.
Thank you for being part of the journey and for continuing to support the series we care so deeply about.
NOTE FROM KATHERINE: Charlotte and Braham's son, Lincoln, will have his own adventure and meet his soul mate in an upcoming story. I'll have to chat with the real Lincoln to see where he thinks the book Lincoln should go.
Q&A with Katherine
Q: Will Lincoln McCabe become a doctor or a secret service agent?
A: I think he’ll probably be a lawyer and use that as a springboard to philanthropy work.
Q: Why is Sophia seen as cold and distant?
A: As a young woman, Sophia shut herself off emotionally because she’d been so hurt. Learning to trust others has been difficult. She’s always depended on her art to sustain her. Now she has to learn to open up to others.
Q: How did Jack feel when watching Patrick with his birth father?
A: Bittersweet, but very glad Patrick had the time to talk to his birth father.
Q: Since Remy has traveled through time more than others, what's the first thing he would recommend to anyone going on an adventure?
A: Go straight to the meet up place and wait for the others.
Teaser…
Thanks to Annette Gahn's brilliant idea, we're going to see a character in The Jasper Brooch who was left behind in a previous book. Care to guess who? Before you guess Jean Lafitte…it's not him. Although one day, I'd love to bring him back.
Tartan products

A selection of printed Celtic Brooch Tartan items are now available for purchase. The woven tartan is currently in production on the looms and expected to be ready for creating your custom ordered items at the end of July. There are several family trees available on the website with different access options. I'll be working on a few more in the coming months as well as a side project on how to make them fit accessibility guidelines. There will also be some new trees once The Jasper Brooch is available!
Also, shout out to Lincoln who I just discovered attends my alma mater, Miami University! Hope you're enjoying Oxford…Love & Honor!

I love each and every book in the series. Please get well and write faster.
I’ll try, Sheila!
Yes please rest up and get well soon. We can definitely re-read your books until The Jasper Brooch comes out! I’m currently reading Diamond Booch again. Take Care, and God Bless!
Thank you, Kathie. Enjoy Diamond. It’s one of my favorites. Who doesn’t love Jack Mallory?
I hope you re feeling much better! Thank you for this series. Reading them has gotten through a rough patch in my life! I am enjoying reading about the kids growing up!
I’m glad they have helped you during your rough patch. Blessings, Katherine
Katherine: So sorry to hear this news. You are an amazing writer, I have thoroughly enjoyed each and every one of your books. Thank you for sharing your amazing imagination with your readers. Prayers for a lasting recovery. Best wishes to you always, more than happy to wait knowing that the end result will be yet another book that I simply cannot put down. Sincerely, Cindy
Cindy, thank you for your prayers and well wishes. They are appreciated. Blessings, Katherine
So sorry to hear about your health issues. I hope and pray you’ll feel better soon. Your stories have provided me with joy for many hours. Thank you for this gift.
Thank you, Claudia. I’m thrilled the stories have brought so much joy.
Blessings, Katherine
Every time a new book is close to being released I go back and re-read all of the others so I’m fresh on what’s happened so far. I started doing that after I read The Amber Brooch and it seems like I find something new every time I re-read. This time, I’ll be enjoying The Celtic Brooch Series while I sail around Alaska in about two weeks!
Can’t wait for Book #14 and I hope you’re feeling better!
May your words flow forth like wine and be as smooth as whisky.
I’ve heard from many readers who do a complete reread in anticipation of a new released. And they always find something new. Sailing around Alaska sounds like so much fun. Enjoy your trip!
Blessings, Katherine
Get well soon!!
Thank you. I’m fully recovered and wraping up The Jasper Brooch.
I have all of the books on Audible. I’ve listened to all of them numerous times. Just finished the Moonstone Brooch for the 3rd time. Lots of surprises in that one. Anxiously awaiting the next one. Take care of yourself!
Tara P.
Thank you, Tara. I’m so glad you have enjoyed the stories. All the surprises in The Moonstone will be mostly resolved in The Jasper, which I am back working on. I lost two months but the story is moving on nicely now. Blessings, Katherine
HELLO, Ms. Logan,
Very sorry to hear of your health troubles. Family genes can be a horrid pain in the behind. Please be well. Don’t over do, listen to good advice of the people that want you better. Heal, and get well.
I love your books! That being said, your health is of the utmost importance, because without you there will be no more books. I truly hope you have all time you want to finish telling us your stories. I will be here for it.
With your health in the forefront, I hope you have someone to help you with the continuation of telling your stories. Someone that could help you, write, if need be, someone that is invested in your characters, and finishing the stories you still need to tell. Stories I for still need to hear, (read), but they play like a movie in my mind as I am reading them. I try to get my grandchildren and great nieces and nephews to take up reading, because the books are always better. I hope you get well soon, and are able to continue with your writing.
Looking forward to your next releases…and continued success.
Sincerely,
Debbie Waksmonski
Thank you, Deb. I am mostly recovered now and back to work on The Jasper. It would be hard for someone else to write the stories because I write them one page at a time never knowing where a story is going. Thanks for reading. Blessings, Katherine
Dear Katherine, I have read all 13 of your Brooch Series, and looking forward to The Jasper Brooch. Meanwhile I am re-reading all of the books, and its like 95% reading a new book. Fun to enjoy them again. Wishing you a continued recovery.
Dawn, there is so much information in each book that it’s impossible to remember everything. That’s why readers enjoy reading the books again. I read the series last year and was surprised by how much I didn’t remember. Blessings, Katherine
